Resumo: This paper is an analysis of Estado Novo's political ideology, through the study of the magazine Cultura Política: revista mensal de estudos brasileiros, government¿s official periodic. After having read selected articles, concerning the political organization instituted in Brazil by the Golpe de 37, it was possible to examine intellectuals¿ rationalizations for the building of a strong and centralized national state in Brazil. At the end we could verify the role played by the magazine on the authoritarian regime, realize the burocracy¿s importance as producers of this ideological discourse, and distinguish some of its characteristics.

Editora FGV2003-01-31info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/2204Revista Estudos Históricos; Vol. 2 No. 32 (2003): Intellectuals; 145-164Revista Estudos Históricos; v. 2 n. 32 (2003): Intelectuais; 145-1642178-14940103-2186reponame:Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro)instname:Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)instacron:FGVporhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/2204/1343Codato, AdrianoGuandalini, Walterinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2017-06-14T20:59:48Zoai:ojs.periodicos.fgv.br:article/2204Revistahttps://periodicos.fgv.br/rehONGhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/oai||biblioteca.digital@fgv.br||eh@fgv.br2178-14940103-2186opendoar:2024-03-06T13:01:41.716003Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro) - Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)true
