Resumo: | Based on different investigations on military and business elites, this paper discusses the advantages of analytical schemes capable of integrating the elements of Bourdieusian sociology and the sociology of institutions for the study of elites. We highlight the problem of the existence conditions and the legitimation mechanisms of institutional elites in national contexts of importation such as Brazil. We focused our analyses mainly on the institutionalization dynamics related to two different spaces - the Army and the “Corporate Sustainability” – highlighting the concrete practices and the devices triggered by struggles for the definition of hierarchical criteria and excellence in each institutional space. In particular, our argument is aligned with research that is attentive to individual investments in the institution, as well as the various engagement forms and the private or collective battles waged in the search for recognition and power. |

Editora FGV2024-02-16info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/90037Revista Estudos Históricos; Vol. 37 No. 81 (2024): Elites políticas e sociaisRevista Estudos Históricos; v. 37 n. 81 (2024): Elites políticas e sociais2178-14940103-2186reponame:Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro)instname:Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)instacron:FGVporhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/90037/85281http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSeidl, ErnestoCosta Barreiros, Bruno2024-02-28T12:49:47Zoai:ojs.periodicos.fgv.br:article/90037Revistahttps://periodicos.fgv.br/rehONGhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/oai||biblioteca.digital@fgv.br||eh@fgv.br2178-14940103-2186opendoar:2024-03-06T13:02:23.216151Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro) - Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)true |
