Resumo: The article discusses the trajectory of the Oral Memory Project of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan) in three different moments: the preliminary phase of the first interviews conducted in the 1980s; the second period, between 2007 and 2020, when the oral history methodology was incorporated into a formally structured research project; and the current context, marked substantially by the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing new theoretical and methodological questions on how to develop the project in a purposeful way in a scenario of adversity.
