The topicality of gilberto velho’s work: anthropological perspectives between history and philosophy

Resumo: This article analyzes the way in which Gilberto Velho’s thought builds an urban anthropology based on whatthe author himself calls eclecticism. At first, we tried to show the impacts of this perspective for its urban anthropology. Subsequently, from a properly anthropological point of view, we present the analysis of complexity from a historical perspective. Finally, we look for a confluence between reflection procedures that serve as basis for Gilberto Velho’s work and those operated by philosophers who influenced him.

Al principio, intentamos mostrar los impactos de esta visión para su antropología urbana. Posteriormente, desde una perspectiva propiamente antropológica, presentamos el análisis de la complejidad desde una perspectiva histórica. Finalmente, buscamos una confluencia entre los procedimientos de reflexión que fundamentan la obra de Gilberto Velho y los operados por filósofos que lo influyeron.O presente artigo analisa a maneira como o pensamento de Gilberto Velho constrói uma antropologia urbana situada a partir do que o próprio autor nomeia de ecletismo. De início, procuramos mostrar os impactos dessa visão para sua antropologia urbana. Posteriormente, a partir de uma mirada propriamente antropológica, apresentamos a análise da complexidade em perspectiva histórica.
