Resumo: This article reviews network approaches in their different dimensions, how these approaches have been developed and, their distinctions and inter-relations. Network as a governance structure and as an analysis perspective should not have taken as excluding, but as dimensions that need to be grasped in an integrated framework. This article emphasizes their contributions for the analyses of social phenomena, their different forms, limitations, as well as the theoretical perspectives that explain their formation.
