Resumo: This paper presents the fundamental traits of the Brazilian culture and the obstacles to the adoption of organizational changes. The paper analyzes the challenge that the Brazilian organizations must face in order to leverage their competitiveness in an emerging market where the turbulences of the last decade have brought considerable changes, both positive and negative. The paper also analyzes the learning experiences of some Brazilian organizations, which took place free from government interferences.

O artigo analisa o desafio, proposto às organizações brasileiras, para a alavan-cagem competitiva nos moldes de um mercado emergente, em que as turbulências da última década no país levaram as empresas a mudanças considerá-veis, com todas as conseqüências, positivas e negativas.
