Resumo: The Japanese company is known to be an organization with familiar features, oriented towards collectivism. It is in rice growing through irrigation, and in the social-cultural system of the Edo Era (1603-1867) that we search for the origin of this characteristic. The Confuncion ethical lessons used to praise the individual's spirit of self-sacrifice on behalf of the common good, and individualism has been severely criticized for centuries. The productive system around rice planting through irrigation has deeply influencedo in the end, not just the economic activities, but also the behavioral pattem of the Japanese people. The individual's fortune remained connected to thar of the very community, and the main goal of the latter was its community. The features we find today in the Japanese organization have been, in fact, consciously introduced by rationality and the discretion of the Japanese people.
