Conceptual bases for knowledge management in the National Network of Human Milk Banks

Resumo: The National Network of Human Milk Banks, at Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), has been experiencing fast development. Its work was recognized by the World Health Organization and distinguished with the 2001 Sasakawa Health Award for the best public health project. One of its greatest challenges is to keep developing its capabilities so as have a fresh approach to its knowledge management and production. This article develops concepts to help in the construction of a new theoretical framework for the network¿s management and presents a few elements for the design of a new knowledge management system. It adopts a practical approach to present the epistemological and ontological fundamentals found in the literature, which support the discussion on knowledge management systems. The deployment of this system should generate important material for the development of the academic activity and scientific research of the network units.

The deployment of this system should generate important material for the development of the academic activity and scientific research of the network units.A Rede Nacional de Bancos de Leite Humano (RNBLH), com sede na Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), vem se desenvolvendo rapidamente. Seu trabalho foi reconhecido pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) e contemplado com o prêmio Sasakawa de Saúde 2001 pelo melhor projeto de saúde pública apresentado. Um dos grandes desafios atuais é dar continuidade ao desenvolvimento de competências para uma nova maneira de pensar as questões relacionadas com sua gestão e produção do conhecimento. Este artigo visa desenvolver conceitos que possam contribuir para a elaboração de um novo quadro teórico para a gestão da RNBLH e apresentar elementos para reflexão e esboço de um sistema de gestão do conhecimento. Por meio de uma abordagem prática são considerados os fundamentos epistemológicos e ontológicos que na literatura ratificam reflexões sobre sistemas de gestão do conhecimento.
