Elite reproduction, consumption and organization of urban space: comparative issues between Barra da Tijuca and the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro

Resumo: This paper aims hypotheses that can explain the differences of values, taste, consumption forms and considerable segregation feelings from the elite segments established fundamentally in the Rio de Janeiro south area in relation to the emerging economically groups established, in their great majority, in Barra da Tijuca. This work is the first effort to answers some questions that appeared in this author's master's degree dissertation. It was through that identified the existence of a strong identity feeling and difference among the social groups that will be mentioned here: the symbolic capital holders and the economically emerging groups.

Este estudo é o primeiro esforço em busca de respostas de questões que surgiram em função da dissertação de mestrado deste autor.
