Resumo: This work had origin in a greater preocuppation to contribute with something really significative for the Federal University of Maranhão. For tha~ we senttled parameters that would supply subsidies in the elaboration of the purposes. Initially we look for a definition for a theoretical methodological position that in a better manner could be adapted in the comprehension in behalf of a hegemonic class. In the second chapter we made a historical retrospective of the events (facts) that distinguished the Superior education un Brazil, having in attention the predominance of a predominant class, interfering in the organization (constitution) of the Brazilian University. It is not our purpose to exhaust all the variants that concerned direct or indirect the education but we believe we can provide some of the elements (principles) that in the future will act as basis for a greatest reflection about such significative p~ blems. In the third chapter, we procure analyse the Brazilian educational politics, selecting some topics which we consider more adapted to our study. This Choice (selection) was enough judicious, due to the existing volume to publication adjoining to a substantial contento In the fourth chapter, considering our purpose, we utili zed also as parameter the National Poli tic of heal th, directed as it has been us to this time, to attend a population that strengther it as predominant class in the same time selecting fallacious mechanism for the maintenance of its work-markt. In the fifth chapter we look for to reconstruct the appea ring of Courses in the area of health in the University of Maranhão, having as background the contradictions of a institution that tries to meet its identity but is restrained in national level, to a politic of Educational and health and in regional level, to the dispute for its hegemony, having in view the interests of groups and not of a community (society). In the last part, as a conclusion, we try to answer to the questions elaborated by ourselves in the first chapter after the analysis of all the developed contento.We don't forget also to rnark in each chapter, the conditions of the Social-politic-econornical contextin the nation, in each analysed period, furnishing a dialectical view of the events.

Para tantô, estabelecemos parâmetros, que nos fornecessem subsídios na elaboração do objeto proposto. Inicialmente, procuramos definir uma postura teórica metodológica que melhor se adaptasse, na compreensão dos interesses de uma classe hegemônica. No segundo capítulo fizemos uma retrospectiva histórica dos acontecimentos que marcaram o Ensino Superior no Brasil, com o cuidado de deixar bem claro o predomínio de uma classe dominante, interferindo na constituição da Universidade brasileira. Não temos a pretensão de esgotar todas as variáveis que atingiram direta ou ind1retamente o ensino, mas acreditamos fornecer alguns elementos que, no futuro, servirão de base para uma maior reflexão em torno de problemas tão significativos. No terceiro capítulo, procuramos analisar a Política Edu cacional Brasileira, selecionando alguns tópicos por considerarmos mais adaptados ao nosso estudo. Esta escolha foi bastante criterio sa, pelo volume de publicação existente, aliada a um conteúdo subs tancioso. No quarto capítulo, haja vista o nosso objetivo, utiliza mos, também, como parâmetro, a política Nacional de Saúde, direcio nada como tem sido até hoje, a atender uma população que a fortale ça como classe dominante, ao mesmo tempo, selecionando mecanismos _falaciosos para a manutenção do seu mercado de trabalho. No quinto capítulo, procuramos reconstruir o surgimento dos Cursos da Área de Saúde, da Universidade do Maranhão, tomando como pano de fundo as contradições de uma instituição que busca en contrar sua identidade, mas é limitada, a nível Nacional, a uma Po lítica de Educação e Saúde e, a nível regional, a disputa pela hegemonia, tendo em vista os interesses de grupos e não de uma socie dade • Na última parte, a título de conclusão, procuramos responder as questões por nós levantadas no primeiro capítulo, após a análise de todo conteúdo desenvolvido.Não nos esquecemos, também, de caracterizar, em cada capítulo, as condições do contexto sócio-político-econômico do País, em cada período analisado, proporcionando-nos uma visão dialética dos acontecimentos em pauta .porTodo cuidado foi dispensado para respeitar os direitos autorais deste trabalho. description This work had origin in a greater preocuppation to contribute with something really significative for the Federal University of Maranhão. For tha~ we senttled parameters that would supply subsidies in the elaboration of the purposes. Initially we look for a definition for a theoretical methodological position that in a better manner could be adapted in the comprehension in behalf of a hegemonic class. In the second chapter we made a historical retrospective of the events (facts) that distinguished the Superior education un Brazil, having in attention the predominance of a predominant class, interfering in the organization (constitution) of the Brazilian University. It is not our purpose to exhaust all the variants that concerned direct or indirect the education but we believe we can provide some of the elements (principles) that in the future will act as basis for a greatest reflection about such significative p~ blems. In the third chapter, we procure analyse the Brazilian educational politics, selecting some topics which we consider more adapted to our study. This Choice (selection) was enough judicious, due to the existing volume to publication adjoining to a substantial contento In the fourth chapter, considering our purpose, we utili zed also as parameter the National Poli tic of heal th, directed as it has been us to this time, to attend a population that strengther it as predominant class in the same time selecting fallacious mechanism for the maintenance of its work-markt. In the fifth chapter we look for to reconstruct the appea ring of Courses in the area of health in the University of Maranhão, having as background the contradictions of a institution that tries to meet its identity but is restrained in national level, to a politic of Educational and health and in regional level, to the dispute for its hegemony, having in view the interests of groups and not of a community (society). In the last part, as a conclusion, we try to answer to the questions elaborated by ourselves in the first chapter after the analysis of all the developed contento.We don't forget also to rnark in each chapter, the conditions of the Social-politic-econornical contextin the nation, in each analysed period, furnishing a dialectical view of the events.
