The Role of Fitos Jounal in Innovation in Biodiversity Medicines

The purpose of this brief communication is to present the construction of the role of Fitos Eletronic Journal in the innovation in biodiversity drugs. It is recorded that the main change occurred in the journal was the migration to the electronic mode, in August 2014, a decision made in light of the contemporary context of the scientific publication. The interest in science produced not only in academic banks, but also in companies, social organizations, professional organizations, among others, supports the dissemination of the multidisciplinary knowledge related to the development of medicines of plant diversity, highlighting the journal as a communication tool of medicinal plants. In this work, the results are presented in the improvement of quality and in the increase of visibility, essential for the journal to assume its role in scientific communication, supporting innovation. Between 2014 and 2016, it shows the growth of the online access and visualization of the page and also the locations of world-wide access were identified. Fitos Journal, after electronics, has been accessed by several countries, which indicates the international reach of the journal. With this, it is necessary to act politically and academically so that Brazilian science can assume the strategic role of technological development, boosting innovation, especially in the field of medicines of vegetal origin.
