Ferrum Phosphoricum 6CH anti-inflammatory action on rat dental pulp

Resumo: | Inflammation is a response triggered in tissues vascularized against aggressive agents. The product Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH is indicated in the literature in the acute phase of inflammation with vascular and congestive alterations, mainly in the oral cavity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the action of Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH on acute inflammation of rat pulp.: Twenty-seven male rats were divided into 3 groups with 9 specimens each, submitted to pulp inflammation and treated daily according to the following distribution: Group I placebo, Group II received the drug 3 days before and Group III received homeopathic medication remaining in use after inflammatory induction. The dental pulps were obtained post-euthanasia of three rats per day, fixed and stained for histological analysis. The Groups I and II presented high levels of inflammatory intensity on the first day, with a small decrease on the second day and remaining stable on the third day. The Group III, although presenting a high level in the first day, from the second showed a decline of intensity of the picture, reaching the third day with intensity 33% lower. Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH presented anti-inflammatory action in the dental pulps of experimental animals. |

O medicamento Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH é indicado em literatura homeopática na fase aguda de inflamações com alterações vasculares e congestivas, sobretudo na cavidade oral. O objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar a ação do medicamento Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH na inflamação aguda da polpa dentária de ratos. Selecionou-se 27 ratos machos, divididos em 3 grupos de 9 espécimes cada, foram submetidos a inflamação pulpar e tratados diariamente, assim distribuídos: Grupo I (GI), placebo; Grupo II (GII), fármaco 3 dias antes; e Grupo III (GIII), receberam a medicação homeopática permanecendo em uso após a indução inflamatória. As polpas dentárias foram obtidas pós-eutanásia de três ratos de cada grupo por dia, fixadas e coradas para análise histológica. Os Grupos I e II apresentaram níveis elevados de intensidade inflamatória no primeiro dia, havendo pequeno decréscimo no segundo dia, mantendo-se estável no terceiro dia. O Grupo III, embora tenha apresentado nível elevado no primeiro dia, a partir do segundo apresentou declínio de intensidade do quadro, chegando ao terceiro dia com intensidade 33% menor.
