Relationship of empirical knowledge with bioactives present in Connarus suberosus Planch. (Connaraceae)

Resumo: | The study and characterization of chemical groups present in the most diverse vegetables is of great value to the scientific community, and through these researchesit proves the treatments effectiveness used in folk medicine that in turn uses teas, bottles, syrups and tinctures to treat the most diverse diseases that affect the human being. This study was to perform the phytochemical characterization of the Brinco Stick (Connarus suberosus Planch. (Connaraceae)) and to compare with the empirical knowledge for which the treatments are applied. Phytochemical tests were performed for the bioactive saponins and leukoanthocyanins, which at one time can prove the efficacy of treatments that use the species as a medicine. Phytochemical investigations and antioxidant activity were carried out through the qualitative research of the bioactives present in their shells and the technique of 1,1difenil-2-picrilhydrazil (DPPH), information on empirical knowledge was obtained in the book of Garrafadas belonging to one of the residents of the municipality of Goiatins - TO who has information such as preparation and indications of treatment from the plant Pau de Brinco (Connarus suberosus Planch. (Connaraceae)). Through phytochemical studies it can be proven that the plant is able to perform functions that are described in popular knowledge. |

Through phytochemical studies it can be proven that the plant is able to perform functions that are described in popular knowledge. O estudo e caracterização dos grupos químicos presentes nos mais diversos vegetais é de grande valia para a comunidade científica, sendo que, através destas pesquisas comprova-se a eficácia dos tratamentos utilizados na medicina popular que, por sua vez, utiliza chás, garrafadas, xaropes e tinturas para tratar as mais diversas enfermidades que acometem o ser humano. O objetivo desse estudo foi realizar a caracterização fitoquímica do Pau de Brinco (Connarus suberosus Planch. (Connaraceae)) e compará-la com os conhecimentos empíricos para os quais são aplicados os tratamentos. Foram realizados testes fitoquímicos para os bioativos saponinas e leucoantocianinas que, por vez, têm a capacidade de comprovar a eficácia dos tratamentos que utilizam a espécie como medicamento. Foram realizadas as investigações fitoquímica e atividade antioxidante através da pesquisa qualitativa dos bioativos presentes nas suas entrecascas e da técnica de 1,1difenil-2-picrilhidrazil (DPPH), as informações quanto ao conhecimento empírico foram obtidas no livro de Garrafadas pertencente a uma das moradoras do município de Goiatins - TO que possui informações como preparo e indicações de tratamento a partir da planta pau de brinco (Connarus suberosus Planch. (Connaraceae)).
