Resumo: The Amazon basin, as has been frequently recognized has an abundance of natural resources that could enter the world market with considerable economic benefit to the region. The present survey describes what products these are with some indications of specific medicinal products, fats and oils, insecticides and repellents. Other classes such as gums, dyes, essential oils and bitter principles are touched on. The importance of quality, quantity, regularity of supply and of price is emphasized.

Neste trabalho alguns produtos específicos são apresentados nas classes de medicamentos, óleos e gorduras, inseticidas e repelentes de insetos. Outras classes como gomas, corantes, óleos essenciais e princípios amargos são abordados de maneira breve.
