Resumo: The epidemiological control of diseases communicable through the vaccine represented a great revolution in science and in the history of public health. The theme is related both to the orbit of the individual right to health, and to the collective right to health of all, since it is a disease preventive health policy.Advances in medicine in research and development of new vaccines will be of no use if there is no collective adherence by society to vaccination campaigns. On the other hand, the State cannot only hope that this adhesion occurs in a conscious and voluntary way, at times, it will have to assert its leadership to protect the right to health of the community.

El tema está relacionado tanto con la órbita del derecho individual a la salud, como con el derecho colectivo a la salud para todos, ya que es una política sanitaria preventiva de enfermedades. Los avances de la medicina en la investigación y desarrollo de nuevas vacunas no servirán de nada si no existe una adhesión colectiva de la sociedad a las campañas de vacunación. Por otro lado, el Estado no  puede solamente esperar que esta adhesión se dé de manera consciente y voluntaria, en ocasiones deberá hacer valer su liderazgo para proteger el derecho a la salud de la comunidad.O controle epidemiológico de doenças transmissíveis por meio da vacina representou uma grande revolução na ciência e na história da saúde pública. O tema relaciona-se tanto na órbita do direito individual à saúde, quanto no direito coletivo à saúde de todos, visto tratar-se  de uma política sanitária preventiva de doenças. De nada servirão os avanços da medicina na pesquisa e desenvolvimento de novas vacinas se não houver uma adesão coletiva da sociedade às campamhas de vacinação.
