Technological solutionism and the COVID-19 pandemic

Resumo: In this paper, we describe the process of creation of the Intelligent Information and Monitoring System (SIMI-SP), a platform developed by the government of the state of São Paulo to gather dashboards with the main data related to the covid-19 pandemic. We also describe the construction process of the Social Isolation Index and its integration into the so-called Plan São Paulo during this time. Working with content analysis and categorization of publications, related to the first 120 days of the crisis, our studies indicate that experiences brought by these non-pharmacological measures need to be better evaluated, with regard to their integration with health surveillance and the process of communicating with citizens.

También describimos el proceso de construcción del Índice de Aislamiento Social y su integración en el llamado Plano São Paulo durante este período. Con base en el análisis de contenido y categorización de las publicaciones, relacionadas con los primeros 120 días de la crisis, nuestros estudios indican que las experiencias generadas por estas medidas no farmacológicas necesitan ser mejor evaluadas, en cuanto a su integración con la vigilancia en salud y el proceso de comunicarse con los ciudadanos.Neste artigo, descrevemos o modo como se deu o processo de criação do Sistema de Informações e Monitoramento Inteligente (SIMI-SP), uma plataforma desenvolvida pelo governo do estado de São Paulo para reunir dashboards com os principais dados referentes à pandemia de covid-19. Descrevemos, ainda, o processo de construção do Índice de Isolamento Social e a sua integração ao chamado Plano São Paulo durante esse período.
