Kaposi’s sarcoma in the differential diagnosis of vulvar lesions: case report and literature review

Resumo: The authors present a case of vulvar tumor mass in HIV patient, located at its greatest extent in the region of pubic mound extending to right lip small, measuring about 10 cm. The patient underwent a biopsy of the lesion, and histopathology revealed in Kaposi’s sarcoma. It is a multifocal malignant systemic disease that originates in the vascular endothelium and which has a highly variable clinical course. This is a case presentation of a rare disease. Its pathogenesis, clinical aspects and therapeutic follow-up is also a subject of discussion in this paper.

A paciente foi submetida à Biópsia da lesão, sendo revelado em estudo histopatológico Sarcoma de Kaposi. É uma doença sistêmica multifocal maligna, que tem origem no endotélio vascular e que tem uma evolução clínica muito variável. Este é um caso de apresentação rara da doença.
