Common variable immunodeficiency is a primary immunodeficiency with a heterogeneous presentation, characterized by decreased immunoglobulin and may or may not display decreased B and T lymphocytes. Commonly presents with recurrent bacterial infections, autoimmune or neoplastic diseases, and lack of response to immunizations. These conditions are relevant to the investigation and diagnosis of this disease. There are still limitations in the diagnosis of the disease, probably due to lack of knowledge by physicians. Late diagnoses are often reported when severe complications are already installed. The recommended treatment is performed with intravenous immunoglobulin, aiming at the improvement of the infections and prognosis. This case report aims to alert the clinical aspects of this immunodeficiency, in order to allow it to be diagnosed early, avoiding the worst prognoses.
