Resumo: The Emergency is a key sector for the care of victims of violence and it is up to health professionals who know recognize and act adequately meet the patients and their families. The authors describe the forms of presentation of the various types of ill-treatment against children and guide about the attention that can be offered to victims in a service of Emergency, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary team for the appropriate coping with the problem.
