Cerebellar metastasis due to gastric adenocarcinoma: case report

Resumo: Objective: Report a case of a patient with cerebellar metastasis which was developed by a gastric adenocarcinoma. Methods: the information were obtained by medical records, interview with the patient and literature review. Final considerations: the reported case and raised publications bring to the light the discussion of the presence of distant metastasis for gastric adenocarcinoma, in special, the intracranial cerebellar. It describes the clinic gravity of this involvement and highlight the implications in the prognosis as tumor localization and staging, number of resected and affected lymph nodes and the presence of metastasis. Furthermore, reveals that more investigation about the subject are necessary in order to obtain better outcomes.

Métodos: as informações foram obtidas por meio de revisão do prontuário, entrevista com o paciente e revisão da literatura. Considerações finais: o caso relatado e publicações levantadas trazem à luz a discussão da ocorrência de metástases à distância pelo adenocarcinoma gástrico, em especial, a intracraniana cerebelar. O presente relato ressalta a seriedade clínica desse acometimento e destaca as implicações no prognóstico como localização e estadiamento do tumor, número de linfonodos ressecados e acometidos e presença de metástases.
