Resumo: | The acute abdomen is characterized by abdominal pain, of sudden or progressive and variable intensity. Its incidence in pregnancy is located around one case per 600 pregnancies. Among the non-obstetric causes, intestinal obstruction ranks third among the most prevalent, accounting for the higher mortality rate in this group of patients. The maternal mortality rate can reach 10-20% and the fetal 26% fetal. Objective: To report a case of intestinal obstruction because of adhesions in a pregnant women. Description: The authors report the case of a pregnant woman 34 year old in the third trimester of pregnancy, who was hospitalized with a severe abdominal pain associated with nausea, vomiting, fainting and constipation. After 7 days of hospitalization, the patient developed complete bowel obstruction. In this case, the patient had undergone apendicectomia 1 year and 5 months ago old. Her laboratory examinatios were. She presented with changes: WBC: 11,300/mm3; Bats: 4%; Segmented: 79%, PCR: 168.2 mg/dl; Plain radiograph of the abdomen: fluid levels in distended loops of small intestine. Conclusion: This case demonstrates the importance of considering non-obstetric causes in the differential diagnosis of abdominal pain in pregnant women. |

Sua incidência na gravidez situa-se em torno de um caso a cada 600 gestações. Dentre as causas não obstétricas, a obstrução intestinal ocupa o terceiro lugar entre as causas mais prevalentes, sendo responsável pela maior taxa de mortalidade nesse grupo de pacientes. A taxa de mortalidade materna pode atingir 10-20% e a fetal 26%. Objetivo: Relatar um caso de obstrução intestinal por brida em gestante. Descrição: Os autores relatam o caso de uma gestante de 34 anos, no terceiro trimestre de gestação, que foi hospitalizada com um quadro de dor abdominal intensa associada a náuseas, vômitos, lipotímia e constipação intestinal. Após 7 dias de internação, evoluiu com obstrução intestinal completa. No presente caso, a paciente tinha sido submetida à apendicectomia há 1 ano e 5 meses. Ela apresentou como alterações: Leucócitos: 11.300/mm3; Bastões: 4%; Segmentados: 79%; PCR: 168,2 mg/dl; Radiografia simples de abdome: Níveis de líquido em alças distendidas de delgado.
