Introduction: Pain itself refers to living beings a protective character, and in fact is a vital mechanism for survival. Nociceptive information from some tissue damage is commonly reversible and generates a protective hypersensitivity to the injured site during the healing process. Neuropathic pain is a consequence of a nerve injury, difficult to diagnose and complex treatment, often still unknown. Because it is a nervous condition, as well as many other pains, it is directly affected by the patient's psychic and emotional state, being important the analysis of the most diverse factors before the beginning of the pharmacological treatment.
