Introduction: Stress is a picture of physical and emotional disorders caused by different types of factors that alter homeostasis and this imbalance can result in diseases. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the general properties of immunity, stressors, the hormones involved and the immune response to stress. Methods: A study based on a bibliographic review on internet databases and scientific articles search sites. Discussion: There is a change in medicine and in the understanding that many of the diseases that accumulate damage can be caused or aggravated by stress. Psychological and behavioral changes are associated with physiological changes, showing the communication between the immune, endocrine and nervous systems during stress. Conclusion: Stress is a physiological response of the body in special needs, however, due to its chronification in the globalized world, we are faced with a significant increase in the number of pathologies linked to the hormones involved with chronic stress.
