Resumo: The objective was to evaluate the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in adolescents, in Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ. Methods: We developed two studies, the document type. The first assessed the prevalence of toxoplasmosis and risk factors in 18 adolescents aged 12 to 19 years, served in the Reference Center and Treatment of Children and Adolescents (CRTCA I) in 2013. The second evaluated the prevalence of adolescents among pregnant women with acute toxoplasmosis, also served in the same place from 2003 to 2013. results: in the first study, the prevalence of toxoplasmosis was 61.1% (11) with two having serological profile of acute phase and the age of 15 (27 , 28%) was the most prevalent. Among the risk factors, it was observed that the adolescents had no cats at home but 94.4% of his neighbors had. In addition, 55.6% had dirt yard. As the source of intake water, 61.1% drink tap water. It was also observed that 50% consumed homemade ice and 61.1%, bag of ice cream. Most (72.2%) denied the consumption of raw meat. The cervical ganglia were confirmed in three cases (16.7%). In the second study of 361 pregnant women with acute toxoplasmosis between 2003-2013, 31% were adolescents. The age group with the highest prevalence of toxoplasmosis (50.4%) was 20 to 30 years. Conclusion: We detected a prevalence of 61.1% of toxoplasmosis among non pregnant teenagers and all had risk factors for toxoplasmosis. Of the total demand of pregnant women with acute toxoplasmosis between 2003-2013, 31% were adolescents.
