Introduction: The existence of domestic violence in interpersonal relationships is one of the reasons why there is a predominance of deaths in the world population between the 2nd and 4th decade of life. In the context of violence against pregnant women, the emotional, physical and sexual shocks that impel countless harm to the mother and child together are evident. Objective: This study aimed to describe the role of Primary Health Care in the context of pregnancy and domestic violence. Methodology: The bibliography survey was carried out between April and May 2022. Articles and publications written in Portuguese and published between 2007 and 2021 were selected, using the Revista Brasileira de Medicina de Família e Comunidade, Scielo, Caderno de Saúde Coletiva and the Ministry of Health website as a research base. Development: Violence, in its general sense, is widespread in all countries of the world and represents a serious public health problem. With regard to domestic violence, it is worth highlighting the work of primary health care in dealing with such an event against women, as well as the social issues related to the scenario of aggression suffered during the gestational process and its consequences on the health of the pregnant woman and the child. newborn. Conclusion: In view of the panorama of domestic violence during pregnancy, it is extremely important to have an approach by health professionals in order to track and identify cases of aggression against women, emphasizing the negative impact that such a situation entails.
