Resumo: | While the biofilm has great importance in numerous human activities, it also has negative impact in several of them. The biofilm is formed everywhere where there is contact of water with surfaces, especially large pipes and reservoirs of drinking water. Its extracellular polymeric structure imposes greater protection to the bacteria incorporated in the film. This research draws on theoretical and experimental basis, aiming to evaluate new methods for the management of biofilm formation, control, and removal, additionally with methods of validation of reservoir surfaces and distribution piping used for the experiment. The main idea is to identify means to annihilate this protection (barrier), as well as means that promote the disinfection of existing microorganisms within biofilms. Such action becomes imperative for maintenance and control of water quality, in order to guarantee the potability avoiding public health problems. |

Such action becomes imperative for maintenance and control of water quality, in order to guarantee the potability avoiding public health problems.O biofilme tem grande importância em inúmeras atividades humanas, bem como possui impacto negativo em várias delas.
