PSYCHO-ONCOLOGY AND MUSIC THERAPY WITH EMPHASIS IN CHILD MENTAL HEALTH

Resumo: | Introduction: Cancer has been the target of several studies in Brazil and worldwide, for being present in society, whether by those who are predisposed and / or being treated, and even those who have never had it. The fact is that the problems arising from this disease have afflicted everyone, including children, who have been affected by the damage it causes, becoming suffering and ill. The family plays an important role in the contribution and monitoring of these hospitalized children, seeking help and help from the inmates, evidencing mainly the costs of treatment in all layers of society in different contexts. Objective: To discuss the benefits of music in children with cancer and the role of the psychologist in this context. Methodology: To achieve this goal, a conceptual review of the literature was performed. Considerations: The investigated literature has shown that music can provide comfort, develop meaningful communication, and even contribute to the resolution of emotional issues. This therapy can and should be coupled with body expression, because sounds can have various calming and exciting effects on humans. It can contribute positively to the relief of pain, anxiety and fatigue. According to studies, music therapy may help in reducing the number of medications taken by cancer patients, as well as the length of stay. Being specifically developed by occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, physicians and speech therapists. In the specific case of the Psycho-Oncologist, it is noteworthy that his pepel within a hospital includes the prevention of cancer, intervention in the diagnosis, treatment, cure or terminality of the patient, helping family members about the state of each patient who is undergoing cancer treatment. |

O fato é que os problemas decorrentes dessa enfermidade têm afligido a todos, inclusive as crianças, as quais têm sido afetadas pelos danos dela decorrentes, tornando-se sofridas e adoecidas. A família tem um papel importante na contribuição e no acompanhamento dessas crianças internadas, em busca de ajuda e auxílio do interno, evidenciando principalmente pelos custos do tratamento em todas as camadas da sociedade em difentes contextos. Objetivo: Discutir sobre os benefícios da música em crianças com câncer e o papel do psicólogo nesse contexto. Metodologia: Para atingir tal objetivo foi realizada uma revisão conceitual da literatura. Considerações: A literatura investigada mostrou que a música pode proporcionar conforto, desenvolver uma comunicação significativa, inclusive contribuir na resolução de questões emocionais. Essa terapia pode e deve unir-se à expressão corporal, pois os sons podem causar no ser humano vários efeitos como calmantes e excitantes. Ela pode contribuir positivamente para alívio da dor, da ansiedade e da fadiga. De acordo com estudos, a musicoterapia pode auxiliar na diminuição do número de medicamentos tomados pelos pacientes oncológicos, assim como o tempo de internação. Sendo especificamente desenvolvida por terapeutas ocupacionais, psicólogos, educadores, médicos e fonoaudiólogos. No caso específico do Psico-oncologista, ressalta-se que seu pepel dentro de um hospital inclui a prevenção do câncer, intervenção no diagnóstico, no período do tratamento, na cura ou na terminalidade do paciente, dando auxílio aos familiares sobre o estado de cada paciente que está em tratamento oncológico.
