Nesse trabalho que faz uma discussão das contribuições de Jürgen Habermas para uma fundamentação linguística e pós-metafísica do conceito identidade pessoal, se questiona inicialmente a tradição filosófica cartesiana e kantiana solipsista. Apresenta-se então a teoria de George Mead sobre o Self, que influenciou Habermas. Na sequência, apresenta-se a teoria habermasiana, na qual a identidade de alguém e sua autoconsciência se formam em contextos de interação, que exigem do indivíduo a capacidade de referir-se a si mesmo no uso da linguagem em primeira pessoa. Por fim, busca-se sintetizar o dois autores, refere-se que: identidade pessoal refira-se à percepção/concepção de si que se configura em operações linguístico-comunicativas de autorreferenciação, formando-se no uso da linguagem em primeira pessoa (tanto pela dimensão cognitiva quanto pela dimensão performativa da linguagem). Concluindo, assinala-se como as proposições desses dois autores podem oferecer importantes subsídios para a Psicologia Social, principalmente para os estudos acerca da identidade social.   Palavras-chave: Psicologia Social. ABSTRACT A discussion about the contributions from Jürgen Habermas to a post-metaphysical and linguistic grounding on the concept of personal identity. Initially, it is questioned the  solipsistic Cartesian and Kantian philosophical tradition. It is presented then George Mead’s theory about the Self, which influenced Habermas. It is presented Habermas’s theory, in which one’s identity and self-awareness are formed in interaction contexts which demand from the individual the ability to refer to himself in the use of language in first person. A synthesis of the two authors is tried, where is proposed that: personal identity refers to the perception/conception of self that is configured in linguistic-communicative self-reference operations, been developed in the use of language in first person (as much for cognitive dimension as for performative dimension of language). Closing, it is assigned how the propositions of these two authors can provide important insights for social psychology, especially for social identity studies.   Keywords: Social Psychology.
