Analisa-se os temas centrais nas Confissões de Santo Agostinho, a saber: tempo e eternidade, Analisam-se os temas centrais nas Confissões de Santo Agostinho, a saber: tempo e eternidade, Creatio ex nihilo, liberdade e graça, bem e mal, por serem os temas principais no ponto de vista filosófico de Agostinho. De fato, quando se indaga (presente) sobre algo relacionado ao tempo, o pensamento leva aos acontecimentos que se presenciou (passado) e tem-se a impressão de que algo vai acontecer (futuro), mas não se sabe exatamente quando o tempo iniciou e se vai acabar. Agostinho apresenta o conceito de tempo, bem como se o tempo é eterno com base nas versões bíblicas, para ele existiu um início e haverá um fim, pois a eternidade é apenas atributo de Deus. A liberdade e a Graça são presentes de Deus dados ao Homem; através da liberdade o Homem age como sujeito do seu arbítrio, portanto, responsável; através da Graça o Homem tem a “força” espiritual para agir. Por fim, o problema do mal, ou seja, a diferença entre o bem e o mal, quando questionou a existência do mal, afirmando que, na verdade, seria a ausência do bem, insinuando que se tudo foi criado por Deus, foi criado de forma perfeita, ou seja, apenas o bem foi criado, sendo o mal produto da liberdade que leva o Homem a pecar, ou seja, o mal é o próprio pecado. Palavras-Chave:  Tempo e Eternidade. Santo Agostinho. ABSTRACT We analyze the central themes in the Confessions of Saint Augustine, namely: time and eternity, creatio ex nihilo, freedom and grace, good and evil, for being the main themes in the philosophical point of view of Augustine. In fact, when one inquires into something related to time, thought leads to events that have been witnessed (past) and one has the impression that something will happen (future), but one does not know exactly when time started and will end. Augustine presents the concept of time, as well as whether time is eternal based on the biblical versions, for it there was a beginning and there will be an end, for eternity is only God's attribute. Freedom and Grace are gifts of God given to man; through freedom man acts as the subject of his agency, therefore responsible; through grace man has the spiritual "strength" to act. Finally, the problem of evil, that is, the difference between good and evil, when he questioned the existence of evil, affirming that, in fact, it would be the absence of good, implying that if everything was created by God, it was created in a perfect way, that is, only good was created being evil, a product of freedom that leads man to sin, that is, evil is sin itself. Keywords: Time and Eternity.
