O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as escolhas profissionais dos estudantes da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), problematizando-as com o debate das relações de gênero que permeiam as relações sociais. Metodologicamente, realizamos a pesquisa bibliográfica referente às categorias “gênero”, “escolhas profissionais” e “profissão” e a pesquisa documental nos Anuários Estatísticos. Os resultados revelaram as relações desiguais de gênero e a divisão sexual do trabalho nas escolhas profissionais dos estudantes da UFS. As áreas nas quais predominam o maior quantitativo de mulheres são relativas à saúde e à educação e as áreas das exatas e tecnológicas continuam sendo um campo com pequena participação feminina, confirmando a desigualdade de gênero existente nas escolhas profissionais e, consequentemente, no mercado de trabalho. Palavras-chaves: Relações de Gênero. Universidade Federal de Sergipe. ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to analyze the professional choices of students from the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), problematizing them with the debate of gender relations that permeate social relations. Methodologically, we conducted the bibliographic research referring to the categories “gender”, “professional choices” and “profession”; and documentary research in the Statistical Yearbooks. The results revealed that unequal gender relations and the sexual division of labor in the professional choices of UFS students. The areas where the largest number of women predominate are the areas of health and education, and the exact and technological areas remain a field with little female participation, confirming the existing gender inequality in career choices and, consequently, in the labor market job. Keywords: Gender Relations.
