Resumo: This work, through the study of the paradox of the arrow, shows the doctrinal and methodological effect that the dialectical procedures of Zeno of Elea and of the treatment of time in Plato’s Parmenides had on Aristotle’s Physics. Aristotle’s distinction of the senses in which we can speak of present time and of place, and the basic elements of his conception of motion, are forged in the heat of his discussion with these two philosophers, as he searches for the possibility conditions for the scientific status of physics.

Revista HypnosHypnos Journal2017-10-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://hypnos.org.br/index.php/hypnos/article/view/537Revista Hypnos; n. 39 (2017); 179-198Hypnos Journal; No. 39 (2017); 179-1982177-53461413-9138reponame:Hypnosinstname:Faculdade de São Bento (FSB)instacron:FSBporhttps://hypnos.org.br/index.php/hypnos/article/view/537/556Copyright (c) 2017 Maria Elena Díazinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDíaz, M.
