Resumo: This research analysed Valdemar de Oliveira's sociability structure and highlighted his participation as a physician, professor and writer of textbooks. A documentary and historiographical research were conducted, allowing us to establish a narrative with the information treated through a prosopographic analysis. Valdemar de Oliveira built political and cultural affinities through the intersection of shared spaces and intellectual production, forming a structure of sociability that allowed him to carry out his teaching activities in the most prominent secondary and undergraduate education schools in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. Many brains of his time influenced his career, such as Amaury de Medeiros, in the field of Hygiene, and Aníbal Bruno, who invited him to write textbooks on Natural History for the National Publishing House (Companhia Editora Nacional). Also, Ricardo da Costa Pinto made it possible for him to stay at the Ginásio Pernambucano to teach in the complementary course, and Joaquim Amazonas appointed him as a lecturer of Botany in the Natural History Undergraduate Course at UFPE. Valdemar de Oliveira developed a career as a physician, a teacher and a textbook writer and carried out activities that strengthened hygienist ideals, disseminating a set of hygienist information in his textbooks. Taking advantage of the growth of the Brazilian publishing market, which projected its intellectual production nationally, he left his legacy in the educational policy of his time. Fue gestionado un estudio científico bajo una perspectiva documental e historiográfica, lo que permitió el establecimiento de una narrativa con las informaciones consideradas a partir de un análisis prosopográfico. Valdemar de Oliveira construyó afinidades políticas y culturales por medio de la intersección de espacios comunes y de producción intelectual, constituyendo una estructura de sociabilidad que permitió la realización de sus actividades docentes en las principales escuelas de enseñanza secundaria y superior del Recife. Significativos nombres exponentes relativos a los intelectuales de la época influyeron su trayectoria, como Amaury de Medeiros, en el campo de la higiene, Aníbal Bruno, con la invitación para escribir libros didácticos de Historia Natural para la Compañía Editora Nacional, Ricardo da Costa Pinto, que posibilitó su permanencia en el Gimnasio Pernambucano para enseñar en la formación complementar, además de Joaquim Amazonas, que le concedió la asignatura de Botánica en el curso de Historia Natural de la UFPE. Valdemar de Oliveira desarrolló acciones como médico, profesor y escritor, ejecutando actividades que consolidaron los ideales higienistas, mientras promovía el flujo de informaciones en sus libros didácticos. Por lo tanto, el profesor aprovechó el crecimiento respectivo al mercado editorial brasileño, que proyectaba nacionalmente su producción intelectual, mientras se convertía en una figura eminente en la política educacional de su época. Foi conduzida uma pesquisa documental e historiográfica, permitindo estabelecer uma narrativa com as informações tratadas a partir de uma análise prosopográfica. Valdemar de Oliveira construiu afinidades políticas e culturais por meio do cruzamento de espaços comuns e de produção intelectual, formando uma estrutura de sociabilidade que permitiu a realização de suas atividades docentes nas principais escolas de ensino secundário e superior do Recife. Muitos intelectuais de sua época influenciaram sua trajetória, como Amaury de Medeiros, no campo da Higiene, Aníbal Bruno, com o convite para escrever livros didáticos de História Natural para a Companhia Editora Nacional, Ricardo da Costa Pinto, que possibilitou sua permanência no Ginásio Pernambucano para ensinar no Curso Complementar, além de Joaquim Amazonas, que o concedeu a disciplina de Botânica no Curso de História Natural da UFPE.
