The implications of the economic and market systems for the society and nature

Resumo: The article presents considerations on the implementation of the market and of the self-regulating system beyond the transformations that society has gone through as a result of the establishment of an economic system based on self-regulation. The research is of bibliographical nature and consisted in a study of conceptions coming mainly from Polanyi (2000) and Leff (2010). Initially, it presents some considerations on the functioning of a social organization without market interferences and, after that, it seeks understandings about how to organize a society which holds a market system, allowing to understand how was the process of implemention of a self-regulating in the nineteenth century. After these considerations, it has apprehend some of the changes occurred as a result of such economic transformations, which are present nowadays, essentially pointing out the consequences of environmental degradation coming from the connection between society and nature driven by the accumulation of capital.JEL-Code | P11; P21; Q58.

La presente investigación es de carácter bibliográfico y consistió en un estudio de las concepciones provenientes principalmente de Polanyi (2000) y Leff (2010). A continuación se presentan algunas consideraciones sobre el funcionamiento de una organización social sin interferencia del mercado y luego se buscó entender cómo se organiza una sociedad que posee un sistema de mercado. Esto permite entender cómo era, ya en el siglo XIX, el proceso de implementar un sistema de autorregulación. Después de estas consideraciones, se incorporan algunos de los cambios ocasionados por las transformaciones económicas, aún presentes hoy, señalando esencialmente las consecuencias de la degradación ambiental provenientes de la conexión sociedad-naturaleza conducidos a la acumulación de capital.Código JEL | P11; P21; Q58.O artigo apresenta algumas considerações a respeito da implantação do mercado e do sistema autorregulável e as transformações pelas quais a sociedade passou em decorrência da fixação de um sistema econômico baseado na autorregulação. A pesquisa consistiu em um estudo com base em concepções oriundas principalmente de Polanyi (2000) e Leff (2010). Inicialmente, apresentam-se algumas considerações sobre o funcionamento de uma organização social sem a interferência do mercado e, posteriormente, busca-se perceber como se organiza uma sociedade que comporta um sistema de mercado, permitindo entender como foi, a partir do século XIX, o processo de implantação de um sistema autorregulável.
