Resumo: | This article resulted from a research that aimed to analyze the sustainability of land use systems in the agro-extractive settlement of Anauerapucu, in the Brazilian Northern State of Amapá. The investigation required the construction of sustainability indicators for comparison among agro-extractive systems adopted in the dry land and the floodplains. There were analyzed social, economic, environmental, political and cultural dimensions through the use of the indicators constructed from pre-defined variables. The indicators were classified into three levels: low, medium and high sustainability. The land use in the investigated agro-extractive settlement is characterized by small fields, fruit production, cultivation of manioc and cassava, extraction of açaí, fish farming, livestock and cultivation of some fruit using floodplains and dry land. The results showed that the floodplain systems presented better sustainability indicators in comparison to dry land systems.JEL-Code | O18; Q24; R14. |
