Resumo: Apresentamos uma relação entre a obra de Magritte “Isso não é um cachimbo” e a compreensão de Foucault sobre o sujeito que não existe em si, que está submetido permanentemente as relações de poder. Este sujeito, entretanto, manifesta suas transformações na transgressão das normas impostas pelo poder, no enfrentamento deste poder, onde são possíveis as criações de outras formas de representações. Ainda, entendemos a arte como uma ferramenta importante na criação de novas representações e, portanto, formas de subjetividade.
