Resumo: In this work, economist, philosopher and theologian Franz J. Hinkelammert discusses the model of society built by capitalism. From his perspective, reduced to market and power relations, human condition has become an iron cage, thus imprisoning us, inevitably. The author points to the possibility of new existing condition through recovering democracy and human beings as the subjects of a new history. Key words: Globalization. Economy. Democracy.
