This text, guided by the question of how the use of educational books contributes to the valorization of the identity and ethnic belonging of quilombola communities?, seeks to reflect on Quilombola School Education and the use of pedagogical support materials - the paradidactic book, in the spaces schoolchildren. Bibliographic research, of an exploratory nature, includes studies by Melo (2004), Campello e Silva (2018), Paulucio (2018), Silva (2016), Silva (2020) in the discussion of quilombola school education and specific didactic material that meets the National Curriculum Guidelines for Quilombola School Education. From this study, it appears that it is still a great challenge to have textbooks and para-didactics in quilombola schools that represent the culture and dialogue with the knowledge of the quilombola communities, approaching the reality of the students and generating the feeling of belonging and the recognition of identities in a positive way.
