TECHNICAL COMPUTER COURSE INTEGRATED TO THE HIGH SCHOOL AT IFMG (FORMIGA CAMPUS) AND THE DEMAND OF THE LOCAL LABOR MARKET

Resumo: The present case study brings the results of a research which the objective was to verify the alignment of the Pedagogical Course Project (PCP) of technical computer course integrated to the high school at IFMG (Formiga campus) with the demands of the local labor market. Starting by analyzing the PCP, answers of questionnaires by students and official employment information of the General Register of Employment and Unemployed People (covering the period from 2007 to 2019), it was possible to check and compare the expectations of IFMG and students with the reality of the local labor market. It was concluded that most students intend to enter the job market after graduate (79.2%) and continue their studies at a graduation level in the same area of formation (56%), but the students may find a shortage of job positions in information technology technical area around Formiga’s region (only 0.4% of total admissions in the region between 2007 and 2019). The achieved results may serve as a foundation for the future revision of PCP, in addition to be used as a guidance for future researches that could contribute to align IFMG courses with the reality of the surrounding community.

A partir del análisis del Proyecto Pedagógico del Curso (PPC), de las respuestas del cuestionario y de la información contenida en el Registro General de Empleo y Desempleados (período 2007 a 2019), fue posible verificar y comparar las expectativas del IFMG y de los estudiantes con la realidad del mercado laboral local. Se concluyó que la mayoría de los estudiantes tienen la intención de ingresar al mercado laboral después de la graduación (79,2%) y continuar sus estudios en un nivel superior en la misma área de formación (56%), pero pueden encontrar escasez de puestos de trabajo vacantes en técnico de informática en la región de Formiga (solo el 0,4% del total de admisiones en la región entre 2007 y 2019). Los resultados logrados pueden servir de base para una nueva revisión del PPC, además de servir de guía para futuras investigaciones que contribuyan a organizar los cursos del IFMG con la realidad de la comunidad al rededor.O presente estudo de caso traz os resultados de pesquisa sobre a oferta de vagas no curso técnico de informática integrado ao ensino médio do IFMG Campus Formiga. A partir do projeto pedagógico do curso (PPC), aplicação de questionários e informações oficiais de emprego do sistema CAGED no período de 2007 a 2019, foi possível analisar a oferta-demanda por triangulação das fontes. Concluiu-se que a maioria dos alunos pretende ingressar no mercado de trabalho após a formatura (79,2%) e continuar os estudos em nível superior (56%), mas poderão encontrar escassez de vagas de trabalho na área técnica de informática na região de Formiga (0,4%) - Minas Gerais.
