This text presents a possible dialogue between the method of Historical-Dialectical Materialism (MHD) with the phenomenon of quality of life. Analyzing the world from the perspective of the MHD would be the same as understanding its phenomena from an economic determinism that is always at a nuclear level. From this context all the rest would derive. Thus, materialism ends up dividing men into antagonistic classes, those who own the means of production and those who only own their labor power to survive. This philosophy would then lend itself to the understanding of the theoretical constructions that involve research on the theme of quality of life. In this sense, it is proposed to reflect that this method, in practice, ensures the possibility of interpreting these phenomena from the perspective of the Higher Education professional. The text proposes this dialogue as possible and necessary.
