FAKE NEWS FOR WHAT? PERFORMANCE OF THE SCHOOL LIBRARY IN THE PROJECT TO COMBAT FAKE NEWS: atuação da biblioteca escolar no projeto de combate às fake news

Resumo: The research consists of presenting the result of the application of the project “Fake News for what?” carried out with 8th grade students from a municipal elementary school in the city of Biguaçu, state of Santa Catarina. The project, designed by the school librarian, author of this article, was implemented in partnership with the school's Portuguese teacher. In this sense, the article demonstrates the role of the school librarian in facing fake news. The project took place in 8 (eight) stages, corresponding to eight classes, in which the librarian had an active participation in the discussions and research moments. Once the project was completed, it was possible to observe the commitment and interest of the students in the theme presented and in carrying out the proposed activities. The project provided students with contact with false information and its consequences, allowed reading and writing and also worked on students' information literacy.

O projeto, elaborado pela bibliotecária da escola, autora deste artigo, foi implementado em parceria com a professora de português da escola. Neste sentido o artigo demonstra o papel do bibliotecário escolar no enfrentamento às fake news. O projeto aconteceu em 8 (oito) etapas, correspondentes a oito aulas, nas quais a bibliotecária teve participação ativa nas discussões e nos momentos de pesquisa. Finalizado o projeto, foi possível observar o comprometimento e interesse dos alunos pela temática apresentada e ao realizar as atividades propostas.
