Accessibility in libraries of the Federal Institute of Sergipe: diagnosis to achieve physical and informational accessibility

Resumo: This article discusses the topic of physical and informational accessibility in libraries based on the research project for the Professional Master's Degree at PPGCI/UFS, entitled “Adaptation of the physical spaces of the Libraries of the Federal Institute of Sergipe with a view to accessibility”. It aims to propose a possible transformation in the informational environments of this institution. Regarding the methodological aspects, it is an applied research, exploratory, descriptive, with a qualitative approach, being also a case study. It goes through the characterization of the libraries of this system, as well as concepts and definitions about the term accessibility in the physical and informational scope, affirming the need and importance of the physical facilities of libraries being adequate spaces. As a partial result, the situational diagnosis of the conditions referring to accessibility in the IFS, considering that each library can bring changes and possibilities of actions aimed at obtaining the necessary items for physical and technological accessibility services for its interactants.

Tem por objetivo propor uma possível transformação nos ambientes informacionais dessa instituição. Em relação aos aspectos metodológicos, trata-se de pesquisa de natureza aplicada, de caráter exploratório, descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa, sendo também um estudo de caso.
