THEORETICAL DISCUSSIONS ABOUT PATRIMONY AND MEMORY AROUND BOOKPLATES

Resumo: The bookplates are among the marks of bibliographic provenance left in a book that make it possible to fix, manifest, recognize and evoke memory. In addition to demarcating possession, bookplates can enter collections and be re-signified. Given this, the present study aims to discuss the bookplates from theoretical conceptions of memory and heritage. This research starts from a bibliographic review in texts by theorists such as Halbwachs (1990), Candau (2016), Ricoeur (2007), Bertinazzo (2012), Prats (2000) and others. Methodological procedures, data were collected in loco at the Rio-Grandense Library, where the bookplates were photographed, as this is a safeguard instrument and allows for further analysis. Among the collection was defined a sample of bookplates with different themes, which brings together elements that show the influence of the social frames of memory in the construction of the holder's memories, manifested in the creation of the bibliographic possession mark. The results point out that the bookplates can be patrimony by resonance and important instruments to represent the memory and the identity of their holders since their tracks are related to the social frames of memory, as well as the metamemory in evoking memories. Note especially the presence of the work environment, places, professions and objects that reveal the context in which the book owner lived.

Além de demarcar posse, os ex-líbris podem ingressar em coleções e ser ressignificados. Diante disso, o presente estudo tem o objetivo de discutir os ex-líbris a partir de concepções teóricas da memória e do patrimônio. Essa pesquisa parte de uma revisão bibliográfica em textos de teóricos como Halbwachs (1990), Candau (2016), Ricoeur (2007), Bertinazzo (2012), Prats (2000) e outros. Como procedimentos metodológicos, os dados foram coletados in loco na Biblioteca Rio-Grandense, onde os ex-líbris foram fotografados, por ser esse um instrumento de salvaguarda e que permite posterior análise. Dentre a coleta foi selecionada uma amostra de ex-líbris com diferentes temáticas, que reúne elementos que mostram claramente a influência dos quadros sociais da memória na construção das lembranças do titular, manifestados na criação da marca de posse bibliográfica. Os resultados apontam que os ex-líbris podem ser patrimônios por ressonância e constituem importantes instrumentos de representação da memória e da identidade de seus titulares visto que seus rastros estão relacionados aos quadros sociais da memória, assim como a metamemória na evocação de lembranças.
