Resumo: ABSTRACT This current study had as purpose to investigate which are the acquirements the patients from university hospital of Santa Maria, with chronic mielóide leukemia (CML), witch use the medicine imatinib mesylate (IM), commercially named as Glivec, and had about its disease, about the treatment and the medicine. This investigation is through the intervention of a pharmaceutical interacting actively with the patient. The data were obtained by means of questionnaires and interviews applied during the year 2009. Based on a research were made informative folders, after distributed, amongst explanations and other practical artefacts to facilitate learning. The positioning about the disease and the medicine made clear the necessity to invest more precisely in the monitoring and mainly in the education of the patients, by means of pharmaceutical care to the treatment can be effective, as is wished.

Esa investigación se dio a través de la intervención del farmacéutico interaccionando activamente con el paciente. Los datos habían sido obtenidos mediante cuestionarios y entrevistas aplicados en el decurso del año de 2009. Basado en la investigación fue confeccionado folders informativos, posteriormente distribuidos, juntamente con explicaciones y otros artefactos prácticos que facilitasen el aprendizaje. El posicionamiento a respeto de la enfermedad y del medicamento dejó clara la necesidad de que se inviertan más precisamente en el acompanãmiento y sobre todo en la educación de los pacientes, por medio de la Atención Farmacéutica para que realmente el tratamiento puede ser efectivo, como si desea.RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar quais conhecimentos os pacientes do Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, portadores de leucemia mielóide crônica (LMC), que fazem uso do medicamento mesilato de imatinibe (MI) comercialmente denominado como glivec, tinham sobre a sua doença, sobre o tratamento e o medicamento. Essa investigação se deu através da intervenção do farmacêutico interagindo ativamente com o paciente. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de questionários e entrevistas aplicados no decurso do ano de 2009. Baseado na pesquisa foi confeccionado folders informativos, posteriormente distribuídos, juntamente com explicações e outros artefatos práticos que facilitassem o aprendizado.
