Resumo: | The aim of the study was to asses the frequency of visit to tuberculosis disease household contacts in Rio Grande, RS. A questionnaire was applied and then was calculated the prevalence of home visits and its association with social and demographic factors and the cover of health services. The frequency of visit was 15,2% (IC95% 8,7-20,2%) . The two factors that affect As the probability for visits, in relation to the poorest economical class (E), the probability of visit was the economic class and the Family Health Estrategy (ESF). Taken as reference the ABC economic classes (more richer), the class D presented six times more visit probability and E class sixteen times more (p= 0,001). The probability of the population covered by ESF has been visited was 10 times more than those not (p=0,01). In conclusion, the prevalence of visits to household contacts is very low, but there is more attention to the vulnerable sick specially between the poorest and who’s covered by the ESF. |

In conclusion, the prevalence of visits to household contacts is very low, but there is more attention to the vulnerable sick specially between the poorest and who’s covered by the ESF.O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar as visitas domiciliares de doentes com tuberculose, do município do Rio Grande, RS.
