Resumo: | Reports the research experience on the behavior of students towards learning statistics. The sample consisted of 140 students. A data collection tool for identification of the academic study habits using the Likert scale was developed. The analysis was performed by Multivariate Statistical Principal Component Analysis (PCA), through the software SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Science). The PCA responses resulted in five factors: the habit of reading and study; the preference for mathematics; experience of Statistics discipline; form of learning and external influences to students who have completed this course. These factors demonstrate that the perception of the application of the concepts of Mathematics and Statistics on students' daily life tends to have a proactive behavior towards the disciplines and can influence throughout their academic life. Therefore, it is relevant to understand and evaluate the behavior of students in the exact sciences area, in order to develop strategies to encourage and motivate students in the university environment. |

Universidade Federal do Rio Grande2021-10-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.furg.br/vetor/article/view/6829VETOR - Journal of Exact Sciences and Engineering; Vol. 29 No. 1-2 (2019); 10-33VETOR - Revista de Ciências Exatas e Engenharias; v. 29 n. 1-2 (2019); 10-332358-34520102-7352reponame:Vetor (Online)instname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG)instacron:FURGporhttps://periodicos.furg.br/vetor/article/view/6829/9044Copyright (c) 2021 VETOR - Revista de Ciências Exatas e Engenhariasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDziekaniak, Cibele VasconcelosMartins, DanerPereira, ElianaLima, FelipeMota, FernandaNunes, MarceloSouza, MarciaVizzotto, PatrickSilva, Peterson Fernando KeppsVotto, ThaysPorciúncula, Mauren2021-10-20T21:11:51Zoai:periodicos.furg.br:article/6829Revistahttps://periodicos.furg.br/vetorPUBhttps://periodicos.furg.br/vetor/oaigmplatt@furg.br2358-34520102-7352opendoar:2021-10-20T21:11:51Vetor (Online) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG)false |
