The economy of barbarism, origin of the socio-environmental crisis, and climate change : the role of environmental education in the paradox between economic progress and the production of catastrophe

Resumo: The economy of barbarism currently supported and legitimized by the event of neoliberalism shows its perverse logic and domination over human beings, other living beings and nature. In fact, climate change and the socio-environmental crisis originated in this economic, political and social organization, whose emphasis on business ignores limits, when the reference is human rights. Based on this increasingly dramatic world situation, this article aims to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and associate itself with productions that highlight the role of environmental education in the construction of an ecologically sustainable societal project.

Por cierto, el cambio climático y la crisis socioambiental tienen su origen en esta organización económica, política y social, cuyo énfasis em lo negocios no conoce límites, cuando el referente son los derechos humanos. A partir de esta situación mundial cada vez más dramática, este artículo pretende contribuir al avance del conocimiento y asociarse a producciones que destaquen el papel de la educación ambiental en la construcción de un proyecto de sociedad ecológicamente sostenible.A economia da barbárie – atualmente alicerçada e legitimada pelo evento do neoliberalismo – deixa evidente a sua lógica perversa, a dominação sobre seres humanos, os demais seres vivos e a natureza. Aliás, as mudanças climáticas e a crise socioambiental têm origem nesse modo de organização econômica, política e social, cuja ênfase mercadológica desconhece os limites, quando a referência não são os direitos humanos.
