Resumo: In this article we discuss educational actions as social practices linked to the preventive process of Dry Eye (DE) resulting from the use of videoterminals (VTDs). This study occurs through a systematic review of the literature that involves the health area (Ophthalmology) and the education area (Environmental Education - EE). This paper seeks to answer the following question: What social function does EE play in conjunction with the ophthalmic health area in preventing DE in users of VDTs? We also discuss, in this article, the educational actions in the prevention of DE by the use of VDTs adopted by the health area, as well as the role of EE in this process. It is relevant to highlight that the perspective of EE adopted in this study is based on dialectical materialism-historical, in contrast to the conservative (reductionist) understanding of education, which separates preventive educational practices from the socio-historical context.

Este estudio se realiza a través de una revisión sistemática de la literatura que involucra el área de salud (Oftalmología) y el área de educación (Educación Ambiental - EA). Este artículo busca responder a la siguiente pregunta: ¿Qué función social desempeña la EA en conjunto con el área de salud oftálmica en la prevención del OS en usuarios de VDTs? También discutimos, en este artículo, las acciones educativas en la prevención de OS mediante el uso de VDTs adoptados por el área de salud, así como el papel de EA en este proceso. Es relevante resaltar que la perspectiva de EA adoptada en este estudio se basa en el materialismo histórico dialéctico, en contraste con la comprensión conservadora (reduccionista) de la educación, que separa las prácticas educativas preventivas del contexto sociohistórico.Neste artigo, discutimos ações educativas como práticas sociais atreladas ao processo preventivo do Olho Seco (OS) decorrente do uso de videoterminais (VTDs). Este estudo ocorre por meio de revisão sistemática da literatura que envolve a área da saúde (Oftalmologia) e a área da educação (Educação Ambiental - EA). Este trabalho busca responder à seguinte questão: Que função social exerce a EA em articulação com a área de saúde oftalmológica na prevenção do OS nos usuários de VDTs? Discutimos ainda, neste artigo, as ações educativas na prevenção do OS por uso de VDTs adotadas pela área de saúde, bem como o papel da EA nesse processo.
