Floristic and phytosociology of roadside vegetation in Não-Me-Toque, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

This study aims to contribute to the floristic and phytosociological knowledge of ruderal and roadside vegetation on the roadsides of the RS 142, from the 23rd to the 33rd kilometerindicators, in the Não-Me-Toque town (52°50’W e 28°30’S), on the Planalto Médio region of RioGrande do Sul State. Two hundred forty-four species, 181 genus, and 57 families, belonging toPteridophyta and Magnoliophyta, were found. The popular name, geographic origin, and use of the species were verified. The richest families in species were Asteraceae (61 species), Poaceae (33), Fabaceae (16) and Apiaceae (10). In the Phytosociological study, thirty-eight quadrats of one square meter were established along the roadsides. The species that demonstrated greater importance value were Paspalum notatum Flüggé – Poaceae, Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. – Poaceae, and Facelis retusa (Lam.) Sch.Bip. – Asteraceae. Native species prevailed, totalizing 81.1%. The studied flora presented grassland and ruderal species.
