Resumo: | This study aimed to evaluate the composition and structure of the tree component of a riverine forest at the headwaters of the Ibirapuitã river, in relation to edaphic descriptors. We applied the pointcentered quarter method in six transects around 5m from the river margin, where soil was collected at two depths. We recorded 23 species, 19 genera and 12 families at these points. The richest family was Myrtaceae with seven species. Pouteria salicifolia (Spreng) Radlk. had the highest importance value (IVI 75.59); Sebastiania commersoniana (Baill.) L.B.Sm. & Downs and Ocotea acutifolia (Nees) Mez were second (60.96) and third IVI (40.40), respectively. The Shannon index was estimated at 2.26 nats.ind-1 and Pielou equabilityat 0.72. Phosphorus values, percentage base saturation and organic matter influenced thedistribution of some of the most abundant species, while for others, the soil textural aspectswere more relevant. |

L.B.Sm. & Downs e Ocotea acutifolia (Nees) Mez obtiveram o segundo (60,96) e o terceiro IVI (40,40). Iheringia.
