Aclimatization and reintroduction of Cattleya intermedia Graham ex Hook (Orchidaceae) from in vitro propagation

Resumo: | The in vitro propagation of Cattleya intermedia was developed in a laboratory from seeding in modified Vacin and Went (1949) culture medium. After germination, two subcultures were carried out until the plants reached a size of about five centimeters. Then the plants were acclimatized in Sphagnum and Pinus bark substratum for four months where their development was monitored through monthly measurements of roots and leaves. There was a survival of 27% of the plants acclimatized in Pinus bark and 53% in Sphagnum substratum. After this period of acclimatization, the seedlings were reintroduced to the woods and a regular monitoring showed that 83% of the acclimatized plants survived. |

Após a germinação, foram realizadas subculturas até as plantas atingirem um tamanho aproximado de cinco centímetros, sendo em seguida aclimatizadas em Sphagnum e casca de Pinus, por quatro meses, onde o seu desenvolvimento foi monitorado através de medições mensais de raízes e folhas. Houve uma sobrevivência de 27% das aclimatizadas em Pinus, e 53% para as aclimatizadas em Sphagnum. Seguido a esse período, as mudas foram introduzidas na mata, onde, através de acompanhamento periódico, observou-se uma sobrevivência de 83% das plântulas aclimatizadas.Iheringia.
